OrganicsRecovery of organic waste from food processors, retailers, restaurants, convention centres and hotels represents a tremendous opportunity for business owners to become more environmentally friendly and participate in the local green economy.

Wasteco provides clean bins for the sanitary collection of organic material which is transported to a network of local processors for compost. Diverting organic material is one more way that Wasteco is helping to create a cleaner, greener environment for everyone to enjoy. FAQDo I have to use biodegradable or compostable bags? There is no need to line bins with bags as we exchange existing bins with clean bins every pick-up. Why can’t I use black bags? We do not open bags during our process. It is assumed black bags contain non-recyclable waste. Why can’t I put paper products in my organics? Paper is not normally compostable but is recyclable and should be placed in the blue box for recycling. Can I put compostable/biodegradable containers in the organics? Compostable materials are acceptable but biodegradable are not. Can I put coffee cups in the organics? No, coffee cups do not compost as they have a polyethylene liner in the middle layer of the cup.
